A tool (600) operable with a catheter (400) in an interventional medical system retrieves a medical device (300) from an implant site, wherein the device (300) includes an attachment feature (310) that forms an annular recess (31) to be engaged by a lasso (620) of the tool (600) for snaring the device (300), and a distal-most sidewall (420) of the catheter (400) defines a receptacle (420R) into which the snared device (300) is retrieved. A guide (610) of the tool (600) includes a sidewall (610S) defining a lumen (601) in which the lasso (620) extends for deployment out from a distal opening (62) thereof, to snare and retrieve the implanted device (300). The sidewall (230, 420, 61, 710S) establishes a radial offset between the guide lumen distal opening (62) and the distal-most sidewall (610S) of the catheter (400), when the guide lumen distal opening (62) and a distal opening (42) of the receptacle (420R) are located in close proximity to one another, which radial offset is greater than a length of the annular recess (31) formed by the device attachment feature (310). |
