A thermoplastic composition comprising, based on the total weight of the composition: 1 to 100 wt.% of a poly(aliphatic ester-carbonate) having a weight average molecular weight of 50,000 g/mol to 200,000 g/mol as measured by gel permeation chromatography using polystyrene standards, the poly(aliphatic ester-carbonate) comprising carbonate units of the formula (I) (I) and ester units of the formula (II) (II) wherein: T is a C 6 - 20 alkylene; R 1 is a C 6 - 30 aromatic group; and J is a C 2 - 10 alkylene, a C 6 - 20 cycloalkylene, a C 6 - 20 arylene, or a polyoxyalkylene in which the alkylene groups contain 2 to 6 carbons; and 0 to 99 wt.% of a bisphenol A homopolycarbonate having a weight average molecular weight of 50,000 g/mol to 200,000 g/mol as measured by gel permeation chromatography using polystyrene standards; wherein the thermoplastic composition has a heat deflection temperature of 100 °C to 130 °C determined in accordance with ASTM D648 at 1.6 MPa. |
