The present invention relates to a method for producing an interconnector for an electrochemical cell, comprising the steps:nProviding a sheet substrate of a metallic material having a first side and an opposite second side; andn- Applying particles of an electrically conductive, inorganic material at least a portion of a surface of the first side of the substrate by means of a wet chemical application method to form an electrically conductive protective layer on the surface of the substrate. The invention further relates to an interconnector and its use in an electrochemical cell, in particular a proton exchange membrane electrolysis cell. |
