abstract |
The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of optical molding compositions based on methyl methacrylate, this MMA was prepared by an optimized method and the molding compositions are characterized in particular by a very low yellowness. The MMA used according to the invention was prepared by direct oxidative esterification of methacrolein.n n n In particular, the present invention relates to an optimized work-up of the reactor effluent from the oxidative esterification of methacrolein, by means of which particularly coloring by-products are removed. In addition, this method has the advantage that less demands have to be made on the apparatus design of the system than described in the prior art. |
