titleOfInvention | Methylomic and transcriptomic changes during conversion to psychosis |
abstract | The present invention concerns an in vitro method for diagnosing the transition to psychosis in a subject at risk of psychosis and a method for predicting onset of psychosis. Identifying ultra-high-risk state for psychosis in subjects is challenging and predictive markers are needed. By studying two cohorts, one of 39 and one of 306 help-seekers individuals comprising young individuals at ultra-high risk (UHR) of conversion to psychosis, the inventors identified in subjects at ultra-high risk (UHR) of conversion to psychosis 139 differentially methylated Cp Gs and 14 genes being differentially expressed during psychotic transition. In particular, the invention refers to an in vitro method wherein in a biological sample the level of expression of at least one of the identified genes is determined and/or Cp G methylations are determined. Typically, the expression level is determined by RT-q PCR or RNA sequencing. Typically, Cp G methylations are determined using bisulfite conversion and/or microarrays. |
