abstract | The present invention relates to an image forming method which comprises: a step wherein droplets of an active light curable inkjet ink containing a radical polymerization initiator, a polyfunctional radically polymerizable compound and a gelling agent are ejected from a nozzle of an inkjet head and landed on the surface of a recording medium; and a step wherein the droplets landed on the recording medium are irradiated with active light. The ratio of the mass of the radical polymerization initiator (A) to the total mass of the polyfunctional radically polymerizable compound (B) in the inkjet ink, namely the mass ratio (A)/(B) is 0.01 or more but less than 0.07; and the irradiation of the active light is carried out in an atmosphere having an oxygen concentration of from 0.1% by volume to 10.0% by volume (inclusive). An image forming method according to the present invention is capable of forming an image that is not susceptible to the occurrence of blooming and bending cracks in cases where the image is formed by an inkjet method using a gel ink. |
