abstract |
A device for delivering a medicament into a body of a patient by injection into or through a skin surface of the patient, comprising: na housing having a bottom surface adapted to contact a skin surface of a patient, the bottom surface having an aperture; na needle adapted for penetration of the skin surface and for movement through aperture; na reservoir, disposed within the housing, for containing the medicament; na needle holder (1000) for holding the needle; nan activation button slidably diposed with the device; nan adhesive skin sensing pull-out safety member (1006); and nat least one shield configured to be held in place by the safety member, the shield comprising a ramp (1004) configured to contact and raise the needle holder to retract the needle into the device; nwherein the shield is urged to move relative to the bottom surface from a position exposing the needle into a position to at least partially cover the needle or the aperture. |
