abstract | The invention relates to novel aqueous dispersions of copolymerisates of ethylenically unsaturated monomers and ethylenically functionalized silicone resins which can be obtained by means of a radically initiated miniemulsion polymerization in an aqueous medium of (A) one or more monomers of the group consisting of vinylester, (meth)acrylic acid ester, vinyl aromatics, olefins, 3-diens, vinyl ether, and vinyl halides, and optionally additional monomers which can be copolymerized therewith in the presence of (B) at least one silicone resin which is functionalized with ethylenically unsaturated radically polymerizable groups and which consists of siloxane units of the general formula [R1 p (OR 2 ) z SiO (4-p-z)/2 ] (I), in which R is the same or different and represents a group R* or E, wherein R* represents a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group which is free of aliphatic C-C multiple bonds and which comprises 1 to 18 C atoms, and E represents an ethylenically unsaturated group of the formula -(CR5 2 ) m -X, in which m is a whole number of ≥ 2, R2 represents a hydrogen atom or a carbon atom group with up to 18 C atoms, R5 represents preferably a hydrogen atom, and X represents an ethylenically unsaturated organic group, and R1 represents an ethylenically unsaturated group E in at least 1 mol.% and maximally 50 mol.% of all the siloxane units (I), p is 0, 1, 2, or 3, and z is 0, 1, 2, or 3. The sum of p + z has the value of 0, 1, 2, or 3 with the proviso that in at least 20 mol.% of all three siloxane units of the formula (I) in the silicone resin, the sum of p + z is 1 or 0, wherein p is 1 or 0, and z is 0. |
