A refrigerator includes storage compartment (107), air blower (116) that blows cool air from cooler (115) to storage compartment (107), and a controller that controls air blower (116). The controller controls blow of the cool air so that cool air of a relatively low temperature equal to or lower than a freezing point of a food item is introduced into storage compartment (107), and then cool air of a higher temperature is introduced, and thereby moisture on a surface of the food item stored in storage compartment (107) is frozen, and finally the whole food item is stored at a slight freezing temperature. |
