A method of producing a heated aerosol-generating article comprises the steps of: forming a rod by: providing a first continuous sheet comprising an aerosol-forming material (2), providing a second continuous sheet comprising a thermally-conductive material (3), simultaneously gathering the first and second continuous sheets transversely relative to the longitudinal axes thereof; circumscribing the gathered sheets with a wrapper (12) to form a continuous rod, and severing the continuous rod into a plurality of discrete rods; combining one of the plurality of discrete rods with a hollow cellulose acetate tube, a spacer element, and a mouthpiece filter, arranged sequentially and in coaxial alignment circumscribing the rod, hollow cellulose acetate tube, spacer element, and mouthpiece filter with a cigarette paper. |
