| abstract | The invention relates to a chemical multi-component system for producing a covering material, for example for biomass, or another functional and/or decorative material, said chemical multi-component system comprising: - a component A, containing at least one rubber and/or at least one protein as well as water or a medium that inhibits a reaction with respect to the rubber and/or the protein; - a component B which is arranged separately from component A in a reaction-inhibiting manner, containing at least one thickening agent for thickening a mixture or conglomerate with components A and B and/or at least one gelling agent for gelling a mixture or conglomerate with components A and B and/or at least one agent triggering a thickening and/or gelling reaction for thickening and/or gelling a mixture or conglomerate with components A and B; - at least one preservative for preserving a product produced by the multi-component system, the preservative being a constituent of component A, component B and/or a further component. It is provided that the at least one preservative is a food additive, a tanning agent, an acid regulator and/or an acidifying agent.
