abstract |
The present invention is generally directed to a drug delivery device for selecting and dispensing a number of user variable doses of a medicament. The device comprises a housing (10) having a proximal end and an opposite distal end, a dose setting member (60) rotatable relative to the housing (10) during dose setting and during dose dispensing, and an axially compressible torsion spring (90) which is rotationally and axially constrained with a first end to the housing (10). The device further comprises a spring collar (130) which is rotationally constrained to the dose setting member (60) and axially displaceable thereto between a proximal dose setting position and a distal dose dispensing position. The torsion spring (90) is rotationally constrained with a second, opposite end to the dose setting member (60) via the spring collar (130), and the torsion spring (90) biases the spring collar (130) into its dose setting position. |
