The present invention relates to a process for the production of effect films on a calender, in which a thermoplastic polymer material for the film of at least one thermoplastic polymer and an additive, which counteracts the settling and adhering of pigments, and optionally other additives but without the effect pigments which blends effect pigments in a rolling mill with the polymer material and feeds the calender without further homogenization, wherein the gap width in the calender is at least 100% of the largest dimension of the effect pigments, and produces the effect foil by calendering the polymer material mixed with the effect pigments. The invention also relates to an effect film obtainable by this process, as well as laminates comprising the effect film, and their preparation. |
