abstract |
An oral care product comprising uncoated particles of titanium dioxide having a weight mean particle size (d50) of less than 90nm and a means for depositing the titanium dioxide particles onto the surface of a tooth, the deposition means comprising calcium silicate. The product may be used in a method of whitening teeth. The deposition means may also comprise a phosphate source, preferably trisodium phosphate and/or sodium dihydrogen phosphate. The product is preferably a dual phase product comprising two independent compositions that are mixed immediately prior to use, applied to the teeth then irradiated wtih UV light. The product may be presented in the form of a kit with a source of UV light. |
