abstract | A method for purifying a virus comprising at least the following steps: a) obtaining a virus-containing fluid, b) providing a pre-formed linear density gradient of a given range X%-Y% (v/w) (X being the lower limit and Y being the upper limit) in a centrifuge rotor having a capacity of at least 4L, at least 6L, at least 8L, or at least 10L, c) adding the fluid to the pre-formed linear density gradient, d) centrifuging so as to separate the virus from contaminating impurities, and e) collecting the fractions comprising the purified virus, wherein the linear part of the gradient encompasses the density percentage corresponding to the percentage at which the virus to be purified will migrate. |
