abstract | The present invention relates to a modified vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) polypeptide, particularly to a modified VEGF-A 121 isoform for use in treating an angiogenic disorder. The modified vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) comprises a hydrophobic amino acid in place of the lysine at the position corresponding to position 84 of the wild-type VEGF-A as shown in SEQ ID NO: 2, and/or the modified vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) comprises a hydrophobic amino acid in place of the phenylalanine at the position corresponding to position 17 of the wild-type VEGF-A as shown in SEQ ID NO: 2. |
