Provided is a cable trough molded article-use flame retardant resin composition that satisfies both correlations (1) and (2), where the amount of magnesium hydroxide (B) is y parts by mass and the amount of calcium carbonate (C) is x parts by mass in terms of 100 parts by mass of resin (A) containing 10-85 mass% of polyethylene, 4-85 mass% of polypropylene, and 0-40 mass% of polystyrene, wherein the resin composition and the cable trough are characterized by conforming to the evaluation criteria in "Testing Method JESC E7003 (2005) for 'Flame Resistance in Combination with Self-Extinguishing Properties' of Pipes or Troughs Covering Underground Electrical Wires."
