abstract The invention relates to biaxially oriented, UV-stabilized, monolayer or multilayered polyester films with a combination of silicon dioxide particles as light scattering particles and a UV stabilizer and a process for their preparation and their use in greenhouse shadow mats. In particular, the invention relates to a monolayer or multilayer polyester film having a transparency of 70 to 92%, wherein: The film contains at least 1.0% by weight SiO 2 and at most 2.5% by weight SiO 2 , Wherein these SiO 2 particles have a d 50 value between 3 and 9 μm, The SV value of the film is at least 700, • the film has a scattering factor SF of at least 2 and not more than 8 • the film has a haze of 60-95% and • has a Clarity of 15-40%; and Wherein all outer layers contain at least 0.3% by weight (based on the weight of the layer) of an organic UV stabilizer.
