abstract | Disclosed herein are self-sealing infusion catheter devices for introducing fluids into patient's bodies, and related methods. In some cases, the technologies disclosed herein can be used to introduce fluids into a patient' s body while the patient is undergoing surgery or recovering from surgery. In some cases, the technologies disclosed herein can be self-sealing to prevent blood from a patient's bloodstream from entering the distal end of a fluid delivery device or catheter. Fluids that can be introduced into a patient's body using the technologies disclosed herein include any fluid, including fluids comprising medications such as heparin, fluids comprising saline solutions, etc. |
