abstract | The invention relates to a method for producing a wood-based material, comprising the steps of a) providing wood particles, b) resinating the wood particles with a binder and c) compressing the resinated wood particles to form a wood-based material, where before, during or after step b) the wood particles and/or the binder are contacted with a broken dispersion. The invention also relates to the use of a polyfunctional compound as a demulsifier for breaking a wax-containing dispersion comprising an aqueous phase as continuous phase, a disperse phase comprising wax, and at least one emulsifier. The invention further relates to a broken dispersion for hydrophobizing lignocellulosic material, the broken dispersion being obtainable by mixing at least one wax-containing dispersion A) comprising components as follows - i) an aqueous phase as continuous phase, ii) at least one disperse phase comprising wax, and iii) at least one emulsifier - with a demulsifier B) having at least one functional group. The invention relates, moreover, to a two-component system (kit-of-parts) comprising at least two components A and B: a wax-containing dispersion A) comprising at least one aqueous phase as continuous phase, at least one disperse phase comprising waxes, and at least one emulsifier, and a demulsifier B) having at least one functional group, for breaking the wax-containing dispersion. |
