abstract |
The invention relates to a process for the preparation of water-soluble or water-swellable polymers, a water-soluble or water-swellable polymer obtainable by the process and a cosmetic, dermatological or pharmaceutical formulation comprising water-soluble or water-swellable polymers. In a preferred embodiment, up to 99.9 mole percent of the free acid group of the repeating structural units of the polymer is derived from acryloyldimethyltaurate as a neutralized alkali salt or alkaline earth salt, preferably as a sodium salt. |
