abstract | The present invention relates to an aqueous coating composition containing at least one aqueous dispersion containing at least one copolymer (MP), where the copolymer (MP) can be produced by (i) providing an aqueous dispersion of at least one polyurethane, and then (ii) polymerizing a mixture of olefinically unsaturated monomers in the presence of the polyurethane from (i), where (a) a water-soluble initiator is used, (b) the manner of metering of the olefinically unsaturated monomers into the system is such as to avoid exceeding a concentration, in relation to the total quantity of olefinically unsaturated monomers used for the polymerization reaction, of 6.0 % by weight in the reaction solution during the entire reaction time, and (c) the mixture of the olefinically unsaturated monomers contains at least one olefinically polyunsatured monomer, at least one linear hydroxy-functional reaction product (R) with acid number smaller than 20 mg KOH/g, produced with use of at least one compound (v) containing two functional groups (v.a) and also, arranged between the functional groups, an aliphatic or araliphatic hydrocarbon moiety (v.b) having from 12 to 70 carbon atoms, and also at least one polyurethane resin (X) produced with use of at least one compound (x.1) containing at least one carboxylic acid group and at least one group reactive towards isocyanate groups. The present invention also relates to a process for producing a multilayer coating with use of the coating composition, and to the resultant multilayer coating. |
