titleOfInvention Iodization method and iodine-containing product for use in feeding animals and birds
abstract The method of iodation of the organic product for the use in livestock and poultry feeding including the stage of iodation with elementary iodine in aqueous medium, herewith the iodation can be carried out in a heterogeneous medium without conversion of the organic product to the soluble state, and bakery yeast can be used as the organic product and the iodation can be carried out with elementary iodine in activated state obtained at the moment of oxidation of iodide ions with a specific oxidant, and the specific oxidant used can be hydrogen peroxide with at least 3 time molar excess. The iodation can be carried out in aqueous media with pH from 3.0 to 5.5; the ratio of weight fractions of aqueous medium and bakery yeast is from 1:0.3 to 1:1. The embodiment of the method is the iodine-containing product containing iodized bakery yeast with bound iodine content from 0.1 to 2.5 wt. %.
