abstract |
A system 10 includes an internal combustion engine 16 including an intake manifold 18 and a throttle 24 disposed upstream of the intake manifold. The system 10 also includes a turbocharger 26 coupled to the internal combustion engine 16, wherein the turbocharger 26 includes a turbine 30 and a compressor 28. The system further includes a wastegate 46 coupled to the turbine. The system yet further includes a controller 22 configured to receive a first signal representative of a compressor discharge pressure from a first sensor and a second signal representative of the intake manifold pressure from a second sensor, to determine a differential pressure across the throttle 24 based on the first and second signals, to determine a position of the wastegate 46 solely based on the differential pressure, and to adjust the wastegate 46 to the position. |
