A compound of the present invention is represented by the general formula (1) and has a 40°C kinetic viscosity (v) that satisfies 4 mm 2 /s ‰¤ v ‰¤ 30 mm 2 /s, C n H 2n+1 -(O-CH 2 CH 2 ) p -O-(CH 2 ) 3 -(C=O)-O-C m H 2m+1 €¢€¢€¢ (1) (where O represents an oxygen atom, C represents a carbon atom, H represents a hydrogen atom, m is an integer of 1 to 18, n is an integer of 1 to 12, p is an integer of 1 to 3, and 2 ‰¤ n+m ‰¤ 30 is satisfied).
