titleOfInvention | Laundry care composition comprising carboxylate dye |
abstract | The present invention relates to a laundry care composition comprising from 0.00001 wt% to 0.5 wt% mono-azo carboxylate dye having the structure of Formula III: wherein X and Y are independently selected from the group consisting of -H, -Cl, -Br, -CN, -NO2, and -SO2CH3; wherein A is selected from -H, -CH3, -Cl, and -NHCOR, wherein R is C1-C8 alkyl; wherein B is selected from -H, -OCH3, -OC2H5, and -Cl; wherein R1 is independently selected from the group consisting of: (a) substituted or unsubstituted C1 to C12 alkyl chains, wherein the alkyl chains optionally comprise ether (C-O-C), ester and/or amide links, wherein the alkyl chains are optionally substituted with -Cl, -Br, -CN, -NO2, -SO2CH3, -OH and mixtures thereof; and (b) (CH2CH2O)y((CH2)wNH)zQ; wherein R2 is (CH2CH2O)y'((CH2)w'NH)z'Q'; wherein y and y' are independently selected integers from 0 to 39; wherein the sum (y + y') is in the range of from 3 to 35, preferably from 3 to 20, preferably from 3 to 10, preferably from 3 to 5; wherein w and w' are independently selected from 2 and 3; wherein z and z' are independently selected from 0 and 1; wherein z is 1 when y is 0; wherein z' is 1 when y' is 0; wherein Q and Q' are independently selected from the group consisting of H and Y; with wherein at least one Q or Q' group that is Y, preferably both Q and Q' are Y; wherein Y is an organic radical represented by Formula II wherein independently for each Y group: M is H or a charge balancing cation; m is 0 to 5, preferably 0, 1, 2 or 3, more preferably 0 or 1; n is 0 to 5, preferably 0, 1, 2 or 3, more preferably 0 or 1; the sum of m + n is 1 to 10, preferably 1, 2 or 3, more preferably 1 or 2; each R4 is independently selected from the group consisting of H, C3-18 or C4-C18 linear branched alkyl, C3-18 or C4-C18 linear or branched alkenyl, and mixtures thereof; at least one R4 group is not H, and preferably the sum of carbon atoms in all the R4 groups is in the range of from 0.4(y + y') to ≤ 3.0(y + y') preferably from 0.6(y + y') to 1.6(y + y'). |
