abstract | The present invention relates to a method for producing low viscosity polyether carbonate polyols having side chains, said method comprising the steps of (α) providing either a suspending agent that does not contain any H-functional groups or an H-functional starter compound, and a catalyst, (β) adding at least one epoxide, the difference between the molecular weights of the lightest and the heaviest of the alkylene oxides added in steps (β) and (γ) being greater than or equal to 24 g/mol and the lightest alkylene oxide being a C2-C4 alkylene oxide, wherein the epoxide or epoxides added in step (γ) can be the same as or different from the expoxide or expoxides added in (β) and wherein step (β) is carried out between step (α) and step (γ), and (γ) adding carbon dioxide and at least two alkylene oxides, characterized in that the difference between the molecular weights of the lightest and the heaviest of the alkylene oxides added in step (γ) is greater than or equal to 24 g/mol and the lightest alkylene oxide is a C2-C4 alkylene oxide and, in addition, the catalyst is a DMC catalyst. The invention also relates to low viscosity polyether carbonate polyols producible by means of the method according to the invention and to the use thereof. |
