titleOfInvention Internal olefin sulfonate composition and use thereof in enhanced oil recovery
abstract The invention relates to an internal olefin sulfonate composition, which composition comprises a monosubstituted internal olefin sulfonate substituted by one sulfonate group and optionally a disubstituted internal olefin sulfonate substituted by two sulfonate groups, wherein if the composition comprises said disubstituted internal olefin sulfonate the molar ratio of the monosubstituted internal olefin sulfonate to the disubstituted internal olefin sulfonate is equal to or higher than 70:1 and is preferably in the range of from 70:1 to 10,000:1. Further, the invention relates to a process for treatment of an internal olefin sulfonate composition, wherein the internal olefin sulfonate composition as described above is obtained. Still further, the invention relates to a method of treating a hydrocarbon containing formation, wherein the internal olefin sulfonate composition as described above is used.
