Biomarker combinations for use in pancreatic cancer screening |
abstract |
The present invention describes a biomarker-based method to aid in the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Specifically the measurement of relative levels or concentrations of biomarkers in vitro from a sample taken from a patient are measured. Combinations of biomarkers provided may be useful in the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer but also for monitoring the progression or recurrence of pancreatic cancer and also the effectiveness of any treatment strategy which has been implemented. The current invention can also be used to determine persons at risk of developing pancreatic cancer, for example by aiding in the diagnosis of pancreatic adenoma, a pre-malignant condition that may develop into pancreatic cancer. |
