abstract This invention relates to a method for preparing an oil-in-water emulsion comprising mometasone furoate, the method comprising na) preparing an aqueous phase by ni) dispersing mometasone furoate in a portion of a mixture of propylene glycol and water, nii) mixing the remaining parts of propylene glycol and water, niii) heating the mixture from step ii) to about 65°C together with sodium citrate and citric acid, niv) adding the dispersion from step i) to the resulting mixture from step iii), n nb) preparing an oil phase by nv) mixing ingredients of the oil phase, and nvi) heating the mixture resulting from v) to about 70°C, n nc) adding the oil phase to the aqueous phase by mixing, nd) homogenizing the mixture from c), and ne) cooling the emulsion obtained from d) during stirring.
