abstract The present invention relates to a kit comprising a support on which a recombinant bovine herpes virus 1 (BoHV1) glycoprotein E (gE) is immobilised. The recombinant BoHV1 gE comprises at least two different epitopes which respectively bind at least two different anti-glycoprotein E immunoglobulins. The present invention also relates to an in vitro method for immunologically identifying a bovine herpes virus 1 (BoHV1) infection comprising the steps of contacting an aliquot of a biological sample from a bovine or a plurality of bovines with the support of the kit in conditions allowing the formation of an immunological complex formed by the gE and immunoglobulins possibly present in the biological sample.
