titleOfInvention | Method for detecting target nucleic acid |
abstract | A method for detecting a target nucleic acid, which enables highly sensitive detection of the target nucleic acid without lowering the detection sensitivity (S/N ratio) even by use of a reduced amount of a detection probe, is disclosed. The method for detecting a target nucleic acid is based on sandwich hybridization using a detection probe that hybridizes with the target nucleic acid, and a capture probe immobilized on a support. In this method, at least one nucleic acid base in the nucleic acid molecule(s) of the detection probe and/or capture probe is substituted with a photoreactive group. The method comprises the step of irradiating, with light, a complex formed by hybridization between the target nucleic acid and the detection probe and/or capture probe to allow formation of a covalent bond(s) between the photoreactive group(s) and a nucleic acid base(s) in the target nucleic acid. |
