abstract | The invention relates to a continuous method for producing nitrobenzene by nitrating benzene with sulphuric acid mixtures and nitric acid mixtures using a stoichiometric excess of benzene, the content of the aliphatic organic compounds in the feed benzene being maintained, during the starting of the production system, at a level lower than 1.5 mass % in relation to the total mass of the feed benzene. This is achieved, either when starting the production system, the feed benzene consisting of recycled and unreacted benzene (recycled benzene) and the benzene newly introduced into the reaction (fresh benzene) is mixed in appropriate amounts, according to the purity of both flows, or when starting, the unreacted benzene is completely withdrawn from the recycling, the feed benzene only being benzene newly introduced into the reaction. |
