titleOfInvention High-throughput early detection and point-of-care early detection of pregnant women susceptible to developing preeclampsia
abstract This document provides methods and materials related to high-throughput early detection of or point-of-care early detection of pregnant women susceptible to developing preeclampsia. For example, methods and materials related to performing flow cytometry or an ELISA to detect an elevated level of urinary podocytes within a urine sample of a pregnant woman early during her pregnancy to identify her as being susceptible to developing preeclampsia later during her pregnancy are provided. In addition, methods and materials related to performing flow cytometry or an ELISA to detect a lack of an elevated level of urinary podocytes within a urine sample of a pregnant woman early during her pregnancy to identify her as not being susceptible to developing preeclampsia later during her pregnancy are provided.
