titleOfInvention Method for the isolation of recombinant prion protein and the use thereof
abstract The present invention is concerned with imidazole-cascade elution (ICE), which is a method for isolating distinct fractions from a source of protein. Specifically, it is concerned with the isolation of a specific fraction (rPrP ox ) from purified recombinant prion protein (rPrP), the use of the novel protein (rPrP ox ) in detecting scrapie prion protein (PrP Sc ) in food samples or in samples obtained from mammals, such as humans, and a kit comprising the rPrP for use for detecting PrP Sc .
