abstract | A sunscreen composition is herein described in the form of an emulsion comprising an oil phase, and aqueous phase, and a UV composite comprising a silicone elastomer swollen in a liquid UV active. The ratio of liquid UV active to silicone elastomer in the UV composite may vary from 1:1 to 8:1. The liquid UV active include solubilized solid UV actives. Further described herein is a SPF enhancing UV composite for addition to a sunscreen composition. Methods of making the aforementioned sunscreen composition and SPF enhancing UV composite are described herein. |
