abstract | The present disclosure provides for an aqueous solvent-free short oil alkyd resin dispersion and a process for producing the same. The aqueous solvent-free short oil alkyd resin dispersion, according to the present disclosure comprises from 35 to 65 percent by weight of a short oil alkyd resin based on the total weight of the dispersion, where the short oil alkyd resin has a weight average molecular weight (Mw) in the range of 5,000 to 5,000,000 Dalton and a volume average particle size diameter in the range of 0.05 to 1.0 µm; 0.1 to 6 percent by weight of a surfactant, based on the total weight of the dispersion; and 29 to 65 percent by weight of water, based on the total weight of the dispersion, where the aqueous solvent-free short oil alkyd resin dispersion does not include a solvent. |
