The invention relates to a method for self-detoxification and/or self-purification of at least one adsorption material having an internal pore system, in particular a method for self-regeneration of at least one particulate porous adsorbent, wherein the internal pore system of the adsorption material is first provided with at least one metal component, in particular at least one metal component is introduced and/or deposited in the internal pore system, wherein the metal component is a metal oxide, preferably in an at least partially crystalline form, and subsequently the adsorption material thus provided contacts at least one chemical and/or biological contaminant and/or toxin, so that the chemical and/or biological contaminant and/or toxin at least partially decomposes and/or at least partially breaks down. |
