The invention relates to a jacketed magnetic bearing 1 for a rotary machine having a rotor 4. The jacketed magnetic bearing 1 comprises a stator magnetic circuit 5 secured to a stationary support device 2, the stator magnetic circuit 5 comprising at least one coil 6 and a ferromagnetic body 7 placed in a metallic protective enclosure. The annular jacket 13 comprises magnetic material and is coated by a protective layer 17. |
