abstract | The invention discloses a method for detecting the full-length epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM) in a sample comprising the provision of a solid phase immunoassay wherein -either a monoclonal antibody recognising EpEx or a monoclonal antibody recognising EpIC is immobilised as a first antibody on a solid surface; -the first antibody is contacted with the sample to allow binding of full-length EpCAM to the first antibody; and -the full-length EpCAM bound to the first antibody is contacted with a second antibody being either a monoclonal antibody recognising EpIC or amonoclonal antibody recognising EpExto allow binding of full-length EpCAM bound to the first antibody to the second antibody; and -determining whether full-length EpCAM hasbeen recognised in the sample by the monoclonal antibodies. |
