abstract | The present invention provides a method for predicting therapeutic efficacy or response to an anticancer drug or a combination of anticancer drugs in a subject having lung cancer comprising analyzing a sample obtained from the subject to determine the presence, expression level, activation level, or genotype of one or more markers to obtain a marker profile, and comparing the marker profile with known marker profiles obtained from one or more lung cancer cell lines. As such, the present invention is particularly useful in predicting therapeutic efficacy or response to one or more anticancer drugs by analyzing one or a panel of pathway biomarkers and/or mutated genes in tumor tissue obtained from a subject with lung cancer to guide treatment options for the subject based upon similarities in marker profiles obtained from the tumor tissue and lung cancer cell lines and the drug sensitivity of those lung cancer cell lines. |
