abstract The device has at least one pressure sensor (28), which is intended to be applied to the surface of the user's body and held there by means of a band in abutment. The contact force is chosen such that the pressure signal of the pressure sensor (28) contains fluctuations caused by the pulse. A system pressure sensor (52) or a belt tension sensor (18 ') generate an electrical signal dependent on the system pressure. The microprocessor (36) determines from the pressure signal the diastolic and systolic blood pressure value taking into account the signal of the system pressure sensor (52) or belt tension sensor (18 ').
