abstract Provided is a process for producing a polyester composition, comprising carrying out an esterification reaction of dicarboxylic acid component with diol component, and then carrying out a polycondensation reaction, wherein the diol component is added twice or more during the time from the completion of the esterification reaction until the start of the polycondensation reaction, and alkali metal phosphate is added with the amount of COOH terminal groups of an esterification reactant being not more than 150 eq/ton. n Provided is a process for producing a polyester composition suitable for use in a film with excellent hydrolysis resistance.
