titleOfInvention | Use of hmgb1 as a biological marker of bowel inflammatory conditions, non-invasive method for its detection in fecal samples and kit thereof |
abstract | A non-invasive method for measuring a bowel inflammatory condition in humans through the presence of HMGB1 protein in fecal extracts and the involvement of such protein in the pathogenesis of chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, more specifically of Crohn's Disease (CD) and of ulcerative colitis (UC), comprising an analysis protocol to detect the HMGB1 presence in feces through Western blot assay or ELISA assay using an appropriate antigen-antibody. The invention also comprises the colorimetric kit for implementing such a method. |
