titleOfInvention | Novel enzyme protein, process for production of the enzyme protein, and gene encoding the enzyme protein |
abstract | The present invention relates to a protein having a β-galactoside-α2,3-sialyltransferase activity but substantially not having any neuraminidase activity, a nucleic acid encoding the enzyme protein, and a method of producing the enzyme using a microorganism transformed with a gene encoding the protein. The protein of the present invention is a modified-type enzyme protein produced by mutating a specific amino acid residue in a β-galactoside-α2,3-sialyltransferase protein derived from a microorganism belonging to the genus Photobacterium of the family Vibrionaceae and thereby substantially inactivating the neuraminidase activity of the protein. |
