titleOfInvention Method of managing a device that splits drive torque between the front and rear wheelset of a vehicle
abstract The splitting of drive torque between the front and rear wheelsets comprises an actuator to split the torque between said wheelsets, an electronic unit controlling the switching of the actuator into a coupled or uncoupled mode, a means (Btry) of electrically powering this unit, and sensors. The electronic unit is able to make the system adopt: - an active operation (Run Mode) in which a control signal is generated and the temperature of the actuator (T° act estim) is estimated; and - a sleep mode (Slp Mode) in which the temperature of the actuator (T° act estim) is not estimated, the switch to sleep mode being authorized: - only when the engine is stopped, and - if said actuator temperature (T° act estim) is below or equal to a threshold (T° amb estim + Delta T°) or a maximum time period has elapsed.
