titleOfInvention Method and device for optical parametric chirped pulse amplification
abstract A method of optical parametric amplification comprises the steps of providing a pump pulse (1) having a pump pulse duration, providing a chirped seed pulse (2) having a seed pulse duration, and sequentially passing of the pump and seed pulses (1, 2) through at least two amplification stages (31, 32, ...), wherein the pump and seed pulses (1, 2) are coupled into the amplification stages (31, 32, ...) with varying mutual temporal overlap and the seed pulse (2) is amplified at each of the amplification stages (31, 32, ...), wherein an amplified signal pulse (3) is provided by the seed pulse after amplification in a last one of the amplification stages (31, 32, ...), wherein the seed pulse duration is longer than the pump pulse duration, the mutual temporal overlap of the pump and seed pulses (1, 2) is varied such that different temporal ranges of the seed pulse (2) are amplified at each of the amplification stages (31, 32, ...), resp., and, compared with the seed pulse (2), the signal pulse (3) has an increased energy in the spectral regions determined by the temporal overlap of the seed pulse with the pump pulse. Furthermore, an optical parametric amplification device (100) is described.
