abstract |
The present invention refers to the use of caveolin-1 in tumor-associated fibroblasts as a biomarker of tumor progression, preferably using smooth muscle actin as biomarker for tumor-associated fibroblast. The present invention also relates to a method for the diagnosis and/or prognosis of tumor progression comprising the detection and/or quantification of caveolin-1 expression in the tumor-associated fibroblasts of an isolated sample. The present invention also refers Caveolin-1 inhibitors for use as a medicament and in the prevention of tumor progression. |
