abstract Quantitative information of a subject is obtained. Provided is a fluorescence endoscope device (100) that includes a light source (10) that irradiates an observation target site (X) with excitation light and reference light; an image generating portion (41) that captures an image of fluorescence generated at the observation target site (X) due to the irradiation with the excitation light from the light source (10) to obtain a fluorescence image and that captures an image of return light returning from the observation target site (X) due to the irradiation with the reference light to obtain a reference image; an image-correcting portion (43) that corrects the fluorescence image using the reference image obtained by the image generating portion (41) to generate a corrected fluorescence image; an effective-area defining portion (47) that defines an effective area having a brightness in a predetermined variation range in the corrected fluorescence image generated by the image-correcting portion (43); a region-extracting portion (45) that extracts a high-brightness region having a brightness higher than or equal to the predetermined threshold in the corrected fluorescence image; and an indication portion (51) that shows whether or not the high-brightness region extracted by the region-extracting portion (45) exists inside the effective area in an identifiable manner.
