abstract |
The invention provides a non-conventional, non-pathogenic yeast, and a process using the yeast, for producing n-butanol. The yeast preferably is Arxula adeninivorans which has been genetically manipulated to contain a set of genes comprising the genes encoding the pathway enzymes for the conversion of acetyl-CoA to butyryl-CoA from a heterologous micro-organism, especially from Clostridium acetobutylicum. |
